I recently completed a course with Airbase makeup to become qualified as an airbrush makeup artist. The training was fantastic, and I learned all about how to apply flawless makeup with an airbrush, how to select the kit I'd need, how to dismantle and deep clean my airbrush, and information on the product itself.
I did this training because I'd been asked so many times if I could do airbrush makeup, it seems to be very popular with brides and I can absolutely see why. Here is some information about airbrush makeup to help you decide if its right for you for your wedding day
Applying makeup with an airbrush means the product becomes atomised into very small particles when applied to the skin. The particles are much smaller than if the same product had been applied using a traditional brush or sponge, this means that the product is much less visible on the skin, even under HD cameras. For this reason alone I believe airbrushing is a fantastic choice for brides wishing to look flawless in their wedding photography.
Airbase foundation is silicone based which means the makeup is heat resistant, and flexible on the skin, meaning you don't feel like you're wearing a thick mask of foundation. In fact, most people say they feel as if they don't have anything on their skin at all, so it is extremely comfortable to wear. Again, this makes it absolutely ideal for a bride because you truly want to feel your most beautiful and your most comfortable on a day when all eyes are on you.
The silicone base of the Airbase product also means that the makeup is very durable and long lasting, again absolutely perfect for a wedding day, even in the summer,
Airbase makeup does not require powder to set it, which many traditional foundations can need. Because of this, the airbase foundations work really well on a drier or more mature skin type. However I have also used airbase on an oilier/ combination skin type WITH a setting powder on oily areas and the results were long lasting.
Airbase makeup also does not cause a white cast or 'flashback' in flash photography. Again another must for a bride who will be photographed all day.
Airbase can be used to conceal blemishes, it can be applied very sheer for very minimal coverage, or it can be built up to achieve a full coverage if desired. The flexibility of having one product which can do all this is wonderful from a makeup artist perspective because it means I don't have to carry as much kit lol!
Ultimately though what ever makeup makes you feel your most comfortable, and your best version of yourself is exactly what you should wear on your wedding day.
